Don't drive in Puerto Rico or Egypt then - the horn signals for EVERYTHING there, passing, stopping, turning, waiting to long at toll booth, howdy, potty break, mountain corners, I'm parking here... :grumble

If you truely pause 5 seconds, and then tap; OK. Too often lately, there will be a horn blast immediately upon the horn turning green. I drive a manual transmission and it takes a while to get started.

It does seem the ones in the back of the line see the light change before the one in front does. ;-)

Also, how many time do you see someone slow to go when the light turns green and of course they make it through while you don't! :totap:

Thats another of my pet peeves when I am first in line. I drive an automatic, but I like to do one final check of the intersection before hitting the gas pedal. Too often you get that idiot who hits the horn the instant the light turns.

On a similar note, there are the people who think that you "could have gone" when they are waiting behind you to make a U-turn or a left turn. The other day, I was waiting to make a U-turn (no left turn possible) and the guy behind me started laying on his horn because I didn't try to go when I judged it unsafe. He then pulled around my car and took the u-turn wide of me. His car went up on the curb, and the oncoming cars had to slam on their brakes to avoid a collision.

I just don't understand how these people think. They are gambling that an extra 60 seconds now is worth the risk that they will miss out on the next 40,50, 60 years of their life. How bleak does your future have to be for you to decide that this gamble is worth it?

The flip side of that coin, is the driver that insists that there be no oncoming traffic clear to the horizon before proceeding. They tend to accumulate long lines of traffic waiting behind them. :cheers2:
