if the sign is legally enforceable, then when you see the sign, the sign affects the entire dwelling. there is nothing that says "you can't go "past" this sign".

If you go to walmart and happen to see a 30.06 sign back next to the bathrooms, (no walmart is not posted), and we all know the bathroom is in the very back of the store. Once you see the sign by the bathrooms, if they are legal, then you have been given notice and if carrying, you need to leave immediately or you are trespassing, and this 'notice' is valid until the sign is no longer posted.
I was thinking of this exact example.

However, many WalMarts also have restrooms in the from of the store. And if that is where the sign were posted one would also not be able to use the restroom before exiting unless you really had to go and it were worth the risk. ;-)

And while you are sitting there, make darn certain your gun doesn't fall out of your holster and clatter across the restroom floor! :biggrinjester:

...InfotechCHL2007, I know what happened...one of their locations(the one I go to all the time) got robbed...shook up the help a lot...the signs appeared...they're unenforceable...and they're not trying to enforce them...please don't call them about it...lest you mess it up for all of us...just let it be and go about your business legally...they know what they're doing and why...they want your business...the LBJ/Midway and one in Arl/FW sell guns...the rest of them quit because of paperwork errors...too hard to train help...they ARE reasonable and have good prices...I've bought over a dozen there...good people...

How can you say they know what they are doing? I don't understand. Posting a 30.06 sign, even though in English only, doesn't make any sense at all. It matters not to someone who would rob them and it might make a less informed CHLer just turn around and leave without purchasing anything and never return again. Most non-CHL folks probably don't even know what that sign is. A criminal that does just might think a gun free zone has been created for them.

...as long as you've been around here I'm sure you know there are stores where the manager and local employees have nothing against guns but their corporate legal department told them to put up signs...so they put up unenforceable signs, knowing that we will ignore them and come on in...and they can tell corporate they've obeyed...they might lose the business of a "less informed CHLer" but this is an imperfect world...and all you can do by getting all riled up and discussing it with them is provoke them to do it right...most of us just keep quiet and decide for ourselves whether to go on in and shop or not...it ain't that big a deal...and it's more common than you might think...the good ole boys in Texas don't agree with corporate in Chicago or New York...surprise...
