Unless you just stopped an active shooter, don't be surprised if he arrests you and lets the DA and judge sort it out.
If he hadn't just stopped an active shooter, what are the odds he'd been outed?

I have it on good authority that a member of this board conversed at length with a GVPD officer in Grapevine Mills Mall whilst waiting for the SO to finish her errands. Never became an issue.

One of the DPS instructors in instructor training was fond of saying that chances are, you will already be in his shiny bracelets for something else for this to be an issue.

I'm prepared for that. . . but if my surprise is genuine and I didn't know it was off limits, most LEOs I've encountered would be understanding. . . unless it's 1) a big city full of anti's (read: Austin) or 2) a pet place for the PD that the city and administration are trying to draw a line in the sand over.

In that rare of a situation. . . I guess I'll be the test case and come on here looking for donations.

Remember, I said that I would NOT carry past the "technically" unenforceable sign in the OP. I'm not cavalier by any means and I definitely don't go around flaunting the finest points of the law. I carry no tape measure. I make no claims about contrasting colors. I maintain proper awareness. But I also refuse to circumnavigate every building I enter on a scavenger hunt for hidden clues about that business' opinions regarding legal concealed carry. They have a duty to provide proper notice to me as outlined in the law. Absent that, I will carry unhindered.

If you honestly don't see the sign then you don't see the sign and there's no decision to make about carrying past it.
