Are we supposed to stop for a stranger when they verbally demand? or allow someone to physically stop us?

Of course not. This thread is about a store employee confronting you in a parking lot, not a stranger. If the employee isn't in a uniform, or otherwise wearing some store employee identification, then that a completely different scenario. Plus, I feel certain no mugger or beggar has ever walked up to a customer in a parking lot and said, "excuse me sir, can I see your receipt?"

Never and and one reason is I believe is that I tolorate no nonsense on my way to my car.

Let me re-phrase my question. How many would-be carjackers have you fended off by tolerating no nonsense on the way to your car?

My own "belief", FWIW, is that no one has EVER tried or intended to carjack you.

I will never know, I credit my being aware that has prevented that.

I can't !! they all look the same to me, and I really don't want to find out.

I suggest you try harder. You'd never want to shoot a panhandler or store employee by mistake, thinking they were a carjacker.

Who said anything about shooting anyone? Nothing here was mentioned about a shooting scenario.
I guess I would figure it out by their actions, I don't want to stick around to find out what their actions are.
