I think it is very Germane to SB5. (Besides the tactical advantages, like credit card/National Parks bill was on National level)
I've seen LOTS of teachers upset over cost cuts .... 700 laid off today in one school district
IMHO: Bout time they got some of that immunity from lawsuits, saved on insurance premiums,... replaced light bulbs with LEDs and stop watering the driveways while it's raining and get more efficient overall and fire from the top-down instead of the staff - up.
Some of these $750,000.00 a year desk-sitters can take a tiny cut ...

It's possible, but SB5 supposedly is something desperately needed by schools because of budget cutbacks. If she really believes that, then it will make it hard to kill her own bill. So I guess she has to decide whether she wants to press on with real world help for schools, or keep up with the boogeyman charade. I do enjoy watching her squirm.
My guess is Democrats are contacting schools now to see which is more important to them; killing camp-carry or passing SB5. There is a House companion and we can do the same thing there, so it's not like she can pull it down, then wait for the House version.
Chas.
I just emailed Sen. Z begging her to leave Amendment 7 alone. I even said Pretty Please.
Now to get all my PSC shooting friends to do the same!

I called Lucio's office today, and told the staffer I would like it if Sen. Lucio supported amendment #7.
She asked my last name, and when I gave it, she said, "Oh, yes, we got your fax." She tried to sound non-committal, but I could tell she was

I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.

Nuh-uh. With limited time and the reality that bills that are put off will never be heard in the Texas legislature, no one plans to have something addressed in the 11th hour. That would be Russian roulette with the way the TX legislature and its schedules works. You'd be banking on luck with the odds stacked against you.

Just got of the phone with his office and the nice young lady who took my call said they've been getting lots of calls about Amendment #7, and we could be doing a better job of getting through. She asked that anyone who is in favor of Amendment #7 should not only call their senators, but they should also call the Lt. Gov (at 512-463-0001).
Get on the horn, and spread the word as you can.
Please?
There, does the politeness help?

Saying something about the concealed carry isn't germaine to SB5. And Wentwrth vetted it with the parliamentarian, but not Zaffirini, how rude.
354 is now 25 on SB ROB.
