We dealing with Walmart folks in the sporting goods department I tend to get a different answer everytime I go, if it sounds too weird, I always just ask for the manager. There prices on ammo are still tough to bet.

As much as I loathe Wal-Mart it is hard to beat ammo prices there.
Our local Super Wal-mart has a decent selection but the prices are higher than what you guys are reporting.
Its also real hard to complain about them when you need a couple of boxes of shot shells at 4am to go on an early hunt.
Wal-Mart is open and a guy can purchase these then.
Academy ISN'T.

For whatever reason the prices are not the same at all Wal-marts. I live in Corsicana and they never have the blazer brass or very good prices. I needed 40 cal and 9mm and was going to be in Ennis and Athens so I started checking prices for those shells and others I buy at times. I stopped at the Ennis, Gun Barrel City and Athens stores that day. I bought at Gun Barrel and Athens. The same brand of ammo can be $2 or $3 dollars different between the stores.

side note: while in Austin last week I went to an Academy to buy shells to go to the range. They did not have blazer brass, only blazer in alumium. I bought winchester.
