Re: Sig P365X pondering

My wife has a 365XL, which I like quite a bit. It has less than 1k rounds thru it, & no complaints thus far.

The 365X has a slightly shorter slide/barrel/sight radius, so personally I'd recommend an XL over the X, but that's just my preference (the XL is still easily concealed).

However, recently ...

Re: Sig P320 un-commanded discharges

A mild 'language' warning for the video, but a slow-motion review of a GBRS class that had a Negligent Discharge on reholstering a P320 that was initially thought to be an 'Uncommanded Discharge '.

Re: Updated Forum version

Next time yall notice it going painfully slow to load, look at the bottom of the Board Index page & Note how many "Users" are online. Yesterday when it was dragging, there were 5 'Registered Users' & 2,279 'Guests'.

Right now it's crazy fast for me, with 7 'Registered Users' & only 334 'Guests ...

Hmmmm.. Slower than cold molasses on my end. Click on anything (Reply, Submit, whatever, including opening the site), it takes 30-40 seconds to respond.

Yesterday, 25 April, it was blazing fast to load pages.

This morning, 26 April, it's slow to load like you're experiencing. Both on phone ...

Re: Legit 30.07 sign?

I think it's the Georgia address on the door, but hanging a 30.07 sign citing the Texas Penal code that JMorris is referencing.

Not sure what counts as 'legal notice' in Ga, so it may or may not count there.

Re: San Bernadino Deputy Officer Involved Shooting

After watching it a few times I think he hit the mag release his thumb was on it. But I could be wrong.

:iagree:
It looks like the deputy fired 3x rounds from the fresh magazine, then the magazine fell free from the gun. Pretty sure his support side grip pressed hard onto the strong side thumb ...

Re: Updated Forum version

Before the update the "Active Topics" seemed to be the default page to load. Is there a User-level setting that needs to be changed to have Active Topics show up when visiting the Forum? Or, is that perhaps a back-side Admin setting that directs / redirects which page initially loads by default ...

Re: Sig P320 un-commanded discharges

I like Sig's, but I'm wondering how they account for at least the one caught on camera where the officer's hands didn't appear to be anywhere near the holster when the gun discharged? Did the holster do it??

Re: 1911 Shooters Thumb on/off Safety

The general 'Rule of Thumb' (pun intended!) that I teach is if your gun has a thunb safety to rest the Thumb on whichever side will disengage the safety, & keep it there during the string of fire to prevent accidentally engaging the safety. For 1911-style safeties (or Sigs / S&W M&Ps, etc) that ...

TAM,
Praying for your family all around, as well as all those affected. It's hard to fathom the losses in a fire of that scale, & your post puts it into perspective.

Also praying for you & your wife as ya'll provide what comfort you can to your family & friends still in CA.

Today, I heard about BOI Deadline may be 1/1/2025

Does a NFA Gun Trust need to file a BOI?

Re: Unlicensed possession on these premises... Sign

Outside of TABC rules, 30.05 is the required sign to prohibit unlicensed carry, so, those TABC signs would still not be useful other than as window dressing.

I'd like for the Legislature to clean this up next session.

The wording of 30.05 is different from that used in 30.06/30.07.

30.06 ...

Re: I let my LTC expire

Agree with Paladin that the status page is kinda slow to populate updates sometimes

On a positive note, I had students earlier this year report back how long it took to receive their LTCs in the mail. The average was around 2-3 weeks from completion to showing up in their mailbox.

Re: Inadvertent gun in carry-on bag by LTC holder

The difference is between State Criminal penalties & Federal Civil penalties.

Under the Texas Penal Code, LTC holders must be afforded the opportunity to immediately leave the secure area of the airport to avoid being charged of a State offense. If a person doesn’t have an LTC (or a person with an ...
