Just guessing, but it sounds like they may have had a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for a similar vehicle for some reason and stopped her to see if this might be the vehicle.

Yep. I remember the wait was like 6 plus months with a clean record. I could be wrong, but maybe its the 100s of phone calls a day of folks wanting to check status that could be slowing down the process a little ...

As a LEO, I feel what you did is fine and I would not have had a problem with it. We can split hairs all day long over this and get no where with it. You were able to return safely to your family, and that's what matters.

I would say it would be hard press to make an argument it is "legal notice". Upon a search of the penal code, I was not able to locate where posting on a website served as effective notice. Most likely this would have to be worked out in court and I would think it would be rather difficult to do ...

I believe he will not qualify. The offense title with "family violence" would make him ineligible. Sounds like he plead down a higher charge to a class C.

As a retired firefighter and still a paramedic I have made entry on those type scenarios more times than I can count, never ever had a problem, of course we hollered "fire department" several times and in a very loud voice!

Congratulations. Reminds me when I got mine in 1997. I think the wait was about four months and at that time you could not check status on line or call. You just had to wait.
