From the article:

Enderli mistakenly believed the permit covered her visit to New York from the Houston area, they said. But rather than getting to see the lower Manhattan landmark, she ended up spending a night in jail after asking where she could store the pistols — 9mm and .380-caliber semi-automatics — while there, they said.

Not necessary for her to get a refresher coarse. Her guns are gone as well as her CHL. When convicted, and she will be no more guns for life as a convicted felon.

Perhaps this can be the case where the challenge is made that a license issued by one state must be recognized by all states, similar to a marriage license...

It's sad that someone has to risk a hefty conviction to get this challenged, however.

I hope NRA and SAF back this woman with all they got.
Keep calm and carry.

+1 I'm sorry for this woman, but her fat is in the fire already. She's got nothing to lose at this point if somebody with deep enough pockets will fund the fight.

Big Guy is right. This could be the case we have been waiting for. BUT, with this SCOTUS some may feel it's not the right time even though it might be the right case.

I don't get it. The information is readily available. Military background... seems like she would have been instructed to the dangers at some point in her training or CHL class. Sounds like she was packin' a backup gun too. I hope she prevails but this is NY we are talking about...common sense ain't so common.

I agree with this. Hopefully, she can plead down to something less than a felony.

The article didn't say anything about a flight so I assume she drove there. It also said she informed an officer about the guns at the 9/11 memorial. Do they have a check point with a metal detector or something? She was apparently carrying for a while there and only just then decided to tell a police officer.

I find it hard to believe this woman made it all the way through the CHL process and didn't at least know to ask about whether the CHL was good in New York.

She obviously forgot her pocket Constitution. That's what I carry with my CCW in NYC. If a cop stops me and somehow finds out, I show them Amendment 2. That's the only permit I need. "rlol" "rlol" "rlol" "rlol" :biggrinjester:

Seriously, this is really stupid. Anyone who halfway pays attention should know you can't carry in NY or NYC without a state and city issued permit. I've been stopped in NJ and when I was getting my TXDL out the cop saw the CHL and asked me if I was carrying. My reply was: "Of course, I'm not! This is New Jersey."
4/13/1996 Completed CHL Class, 4/16/1996 Fingerprints, Affidavits, and Application Mailed, 10/4/1996 Received CHL, renewed 1998, 2002, 2006, 2011, 2016...). "ATF... Uhhh...heh...heh....Alcohol, tobacco, and GUNS!! Cool!!!!"

ScottDLS is correct.

What was she (not) thinking?

I have a hard time working up sympathy for her.

What a bonehead!
