New member and new plastic!

What a nice forum, I've been lurking for a few weeks and then decided to join after getting my card. Happy to be a member now

I was transferred to Texas last year (active duty Coast Guard), and decided that Texas will be my home for a long time, I'm a few years away from retiring.

My timeline:

09/11 - CHL Class
09/20 - Online application and document upload
10/08 - Fingerprints
10/22 - DPS website status change
10/24 - Plastic in hand!

Wow, so 14 days between having everything turned in and having the plastic shipped. Not a bad turn around at all.

I was pleasantly surprised at that too.

What is strange, is that my wife is still waiting for hers. We did the class/application/fingerprints at the same time and dates.
