Rock Island was my first 1911. It really is a great gun. I polished the slide and added Hand made grips. Check it out. http://www.theknifehobbyist.com/knifes.html

Nice pistol - I have one almost like it, also a RIA. Welcome to the 1911 Brotherhood
Indeed I am. I assume you gleaned that from my shooting?

Thanks!

Our 1911 is the favorite handgun in the collection to shoot, it's the wife's favorite as well. I love shooting my Sig P226 in .357 Sig but it's hard on this old guy's hands after a couple of magazines. The 1911 is such a soft shooter.

Yeah I'm in the sub 30 club on this forum but it hasn't stopped me from looking at the Trijicon sight set ;-)
These are the sights you'll want, then: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/357574 ... tium-green

Note that it will require special tools and skills to remove & install the front sight.
Thanks for the link and information. I keep hearing that if I want 1911 enhancements I will become a gunsmiths new best friend.

Nice choice! I bought a citadel (also made by armscor) compact .45. My grandpa got me hooked on 1911's at a young age. He would shoot A few mags of his .45 and then swap the slide over for a .22 and let me take a few rounds. I sure miss those days. The 1911 in my opinion is one of the greatest achievements in firearms history!

I love my High Standard Crusader Compact (Armscor) 45 auto. I've got to start looking for a nice leather holster for it.

I have a RIA Tactical in .45 5" , a SS Springfield Loaded 5" and a Kimber Compact Series I Stainless 4". Love em all but might one be too many 5"ers.
