Help me spend my Christmas Bonus

Post by circumspice_tuebor »

My employer was very gracious and gave me a $1000 Cabela's gift card for Christmas. :woohoo

I really want an STI 2011 Executive, but Cabela's doesn't sell 'em, soooo I am leaning toward rounding out my collection with a .44 magnum revolver. I have 9mm and .45 ACP SA's and a GP-100MC revolver.

I'm thinking of a Ruger Super Redhawk or a S&W 629.

Any thoughts?

P.S. No, you can't spend it for me. ;-)

Thanks for the offer, but If it works on a Dillon XL650, it can stay with me. :biggrinjester:

Since I have the S&W 629, I would get the Redhawk! :biggrinjester:
Seriously, the Redhawk with the hardwood handle, especially with the 7.5' is an awfully handsome piece IMO.

Not really a fan of owning a bunch of different calibers. I say stock up on ammo and get another 9 or 45.

If you really want something that Cabela's doesn't offer, then sell the gift card and use the cash somewhere that does have what you want. You won't get full face value of the gift card, but you would get something you actually wanted.

Or get something you've wanted but hesitated on. Like I would love an ACOG site. If I was given a $1000 id take it as a sign that it was time to get one. Shoot you can drop 250 of it on a very nice set of flip up IRON sights for an AR. ......

.....can you tell I just got into the AR craze? Lol

Thanks for the thoughtful (and other :biggrinjester: ) responses.

I wanted to use the bonus for a single purchase, and I have been wanting to get a .44 magnum for a few months now.

Here's what I ended up getting:

Image

I put 50 .44 special and 50 .44 magnum rounds through it. Rather tame with the specials, a little sporty with the magnums. Both were fun!

Now I can ask for reloading dies for my birthday in January. ;-)
