Im looking for some info.
Im kind of confused about some of the issues under arrests and such.
About 17-20 years ago I had been arrested for unpaid traffic tickets maybe 2-4 different times and once for shoplifting baby food when I was out of work and unable to get work, was also just a 18-19yrs old.
Do I need to list these for the application?
Also when I was 14 in the 80's I had just returned from a fishing trip and was outside my house when a cop stopped and arrested me for having a weapon on me and no parents were home. I was arrested, put on 1 year probation and had a probation officer visit me every 2 weeks at school. It was suppose to be sealed when I turned 17.
Do I also need to list this?
Also I looked at the arrest form to fill out and they want dates and final deposition, I honestly have no idea what they were now.
I did do a criminal history search on DPS site but my name didnt show at all.
So if I do need to list these where would I obtain this information from?
I think Im ok to get my CHL but just want to make sure I enter the correct info.I dont see really explained that well on DPS site or Im somehow looking over it.
Thanks for any help.

You will need to contact the county/counties where the arrest took place and request your records. I just logged onto my counties website and went to public records search and printed each arrest record off. It listed date/offense, county and final disposition. The one when you were 14 should be sealed and not show up so I would just worry about the more recent ones.

You should list them all, if there's a chance they'll come up on your FBI background check. If you fail to list some, and they find them, you're likely to be denied your LTC.

Thx.
I'll give county records another look. I looked there but didn't find any records. The arrests were all lowest misdemeanors so I'm not sure they even show on county. I've had background checks for jobs before any they told nothing was there.

Ok I did find 2 arrest records.
They were listed under sheriffs department and not the counties web site.....
1 I know was a class C misdemeanor and I think the other for the food theft was just barely over $50, for sure under $100 is a Class B.
I really regret that and have stayed clean since but my kid had to eat.
I believe Im still eligible? these were from 01/97 and 08/97.
So after reading DPS eligibility,Im still good to go,correct?
I did find a few other records on me but these aren't arrest records. But what I find odd is it shows 2 records that I never got tickets for,no insurance, and another no license.Hmm Ive never not had my license or insurance. They all say dismissed or fine paid....so I dont know...lol.
Thanks again everyone.

Based on what you have stated....yes!
The Class "C" would not be a disqualifier.
The Class "B" would have been a disqualifier for 5 years.
If this all happened in 1997, you are well clear of the 5 years.
Best of luck!
