In a very public announcement Panera Bread bans guns from its restaurants. Wants its customers to feel secure in a warm environment. Although he did say they would not post signs. Anyone know if it is true?

A police officer responding to a call of a man acting strangely in Panera's, is targeted, shot and killed as soon as he enters a Panera Bread restaurant.

Well the LEO was armed, and from what I've seen, this was an ambush attack inside the restaurant. Apparently the officer was attempting to engage the guy with conversation when he suddenly produced a weapon and shot him in the head. A nearby CC "might" have been able to engage the bad guy before he left the restaurant, but that's not for certain since the guy already had his weapon out and left the restaurant immediately after. Not sure the CEO's stance would have helped the poor officer in this particular circumstance, but yeah... I totally get your point.
You certainly take your life in your hands entering any non-cc friendly fast food chain these days. No thank you.

I guess they think if they had signs up then the wanted felon with an illegal gun would not have come in because you know those signs will always stop crimes from being committed.
