Need some input got the input bringing it up to date

Post by mrbug »

July 1 mailed the packet.
July 5 delivery confirmation received
July 9 DPS deposits the check
July 27 got notice that I failed to sign one of the fingerprint cards arggh
July 27 signed fingerprint card and mailed back to Austin
July 28 Delivery confirmation that fingerprint card was received at CHL office
August 8 sent email requesting pin
August 9 received pin via email
August 21 Website still shows application missing information called CHL office to be told that application is being processed and website is behind and has problems

When I checked the status today it said that information was missing or incomplete detail letter sent. I would assume that it was the fingerprint card that I sent back. I sent it back to them via express mail with delivery confirmation. They received it on July 28th. My question is this. Would I be jumping the gun to call the office to make sure they got the unsigned fingerprint card back with my packet or give it a bit more time?

Patience...

I would think the investigation is already underway, the fingerprint card issue will catch up with them soon...

I'll bet you see "plastic" in the mail, probably sometime 2nd or 3rd week in September...

I'd probably call them (if you absolutely must) in early September just to say Hi! ;-)

That's the way I was leaning. Thank you for the input. I kind of figure that the more nuts they have calling them the less time they have for actually processing. My goal in life is to eliminate pests, not become one.

Yer not a pest...The goverment does things that defy logic and all sense of time...

If you ever wanted job security, and could get in...A Givernment job is gold as far as longevity...You have to really screw up to get canned there...

As far as the Austin CHL office goes...I really looks like things are running pretty smooth...I haven't seen very many problems from what I have been hearing from here and a few other places that talk about this stuff...

The key is to just not think about it too much...Before you know it you'll get that nifty little envelope in the maibox...You'll bend and flex it like a kid at Christmas, rip it open and take a look at the hideous picture, then you'll realize something you didn't think about before...

You'll be making a trip to the store to get a brand new wallet! Happens to me everytime!

Sent an email to CHL headquarters asking about my current status. I was told the fingerprint card I mailed back to them almost three weeks ago was not in the system, it may be in the building but not in the system. My follow up email asking how I could find out when it might be in the system or if anyone actually had it in hand somewhere could be determined has not been answered yet. I know it was received on the 28th because I had a tracking number for it. I would hate like heck to make a pain of myself to them but I think someone should be able to tell me if it has been put back with my packet or not.

Big lesson learned here. Don't be a dumb bunny and neglect to sign anything that should be signed. The mess is one of my creation.

Dude, sorry to hear about your circumstance but it seems like everything will get sorted out. However, I would call and speak with someone about this. No big whoop, just call 'em and have a conversation. Make sure to be cordial with whomever you speak with.

I sent a couple of emails last week trying to find out a status on the fingerprint cards I sent in. I got back emails telling me that it takes from 7 to 10 working days for stuff to make it from the mailroom to the processing office and that it takes a couple of weeks for the packets to get looked over for errors. I did get a response that said though it was not logged into the system as yet that did not mean the missing fingerprint card was not on the property.

I gave it a week before I finally broke down and called them. After about a 15 minute wait on hold I got Simone on the line. I could tell by her voice that it had been a very long and particularly hard day for her. She was friendly and cordial but I could just tell by the edge in her voice. When she asked how long ago I sent in the fingerprint card and I told her it was received in the office on July 28th she said she would go and check. After a couple of minutes Simone returned and saved me from the hideous hold music to tell me that the fingerprint card was back in my packet and they were awaiting a response.

The most important thing she told me was that concerns everyone waiting was that they were having problems with the online system updating license processing status.

I thanked her profusely for her assistance and hopefully left a smile on her face.

Should not be long now.
