The smell of these!

Re: Odors/Fragrances That Evoke Youth
I know this a weird one, but new license plates. My mom worked at the Dallas County Tax Office for over 25 years and she would come home smelling like the license plates they gave out everyday.

Hoppes No. 9.
We also had some sleeping bags that had a musty/dusty smell to them. We mainly used them when we went to the deer camp, so the smell and the memory are associated with extreme happiness.

Good: white shoulders perfume my mom wore, white citrus perfume my wife wears, smell of gun powder, smell of the woods after a light rain, smell of my sleeping bag I have had since I was sixteen, smell of an approaching storm.
Bad: smell of a house fire during and after, smell of burnt human, smell of a dog with gas, smell of a turkey or goose when your gutting them!

A certain road-side weed, known for its mellowing properties.
Football locker room smell.
New mown grass.
Burgers and hotdogs on a grill.
Sex Wax (a surfer's product for waxing the deck of your board).
Salt air.
Pine.
Black powder smoke.
My dad's Bay Rum and Royall Lyme colognes.
The incense my grandfather used to burn in his room.
Marshmallows.
Garage smell.
Pipe tobacco.
Old Spice (my mom made me keep some in my gym locker LOL).
Bacon.
Maple syrup.
Chorine (we had a pool).
Sagebrush.
Beeswax on wood furniture.
Eucalyptus trees.
The smell of an orange grove when all the trees are heavy with fruit.

I have to admit, I'm a little surprised at how many moms (mine included) wear/wore White Shoulders perfume.

It was launched just as WW2 was coming to a close. Initial promotion highlighted that it was 100% American made using American grown ingredients. Most 40s and 50s housewives could be depended on to be patriotic in their shopping choices. And it smells good, gardenias and jasmine, win/win.TomV wrote:I have to admit, I'm a little surprised at how many moms (mine included) wear/wore White Shoulders perfume.
