These state owned ranges offer a variety of shooting options and are very reasonably priced. There are also municipal and county gov owned ranges. Friendly folks, spectacular scenery, great weather(fall, winter,spring), and great itinerary options for non-shooters.

There are two really nice outdoor ranges in Tucson. I've been to one of them. Covered concrete area for shooting. I think it was $8 for all day. Pistols and rifles out to 300 yards. There is also a separate shotgun/clay area that is only open a couple of days a week.

Of course, with it being so much desert, there are also places to go that don't cost $.

Of course, with it being so much desert, there are also places to go that don't cost $.

One of the reasons state and local governments support the shooting sports is that 82% of Arizona land is controlled by the Federal Gov't or is sovereign tribal reservation. While your ability to carry is not restricted on Federal lands, your ability to shoot is.

That 82% includes State Trust Land and Tribal Reservations. The Federal Government owns about 43%.

If you have a valid hunting licence, you are considered a permittee on State Trust Land. Same with BLM land owned by the feds.

They also have a range and league for just about any shooting discipline you enjoy.
