" Today’s devastating assault on police officers in Baton Rouge is an assault on all of us. There is no justification for violence, for hate, for attacks on men and women who just put their lives on the line every day in service of our families and communities.

We must not turn our backs on each other. We must not be indifferent to each other. We must all stand together to reject violence and strengthen our communities. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of the police officers who were killed and injured today."

Then Gabby Gifford spoke up.
" Yet again, an American community has been shattered by a gun tragedy.

While we are still learning all the details of exactly what happened, we know this is an attack not just on law enforcement, but on an entire community as it seeks to heal divisions, build trust, and address its shared challenges. But just as they always do, this vicious attempt to divide Americans and communities will fail.

Today is also another sad reminder that our nation remains in the grips of a gun violence crisis that touches every community and everyone – those who wear the uniform, and those who do not.

We are praying for the law enforcement officers impacted by this tragedy, for their families, and for strength for the injured. And we are praying for peace and unity and healing in the Baton Rouge community."
Gavin Newsome, Lt. Gov. of California, had a similar tone to his message. I won't bother posting it here, you can look it up for yourself, but he just couldn't resist blaming guns. Some of them are downright sickening and ridiculous, at the same time.
I still contend that he looks like a bad guy out of Gothem from a Batman movie.

These two sniper were not afraid to die, in fact they expected to die. I doubt your little poster would have given them a second thought.

Well, our ex Mayor is already spouting about an AWB. Those rifles are only made for killing people and serve no other legitimate use according to him..

He did a good job; he stayed focused on grieving for the officers and their families, and on unifying the population of this great country.

There was no hint of a mention about gun control...I lost my own bet. And I'm glad about that.
I lost the same bet. I was sure he was going to mention gun control and he didn't. He kept it short, to the point, and I cannot believe I'm going to say this...but I agree with what he said.

Now if you'll excuse me, I think I need to go shower. :biggrinjester:
Sorry guys, I disagree.

He is the one with blood on his hands.
He started the spread of hate and fueled racial enmity, and now he is the one to unite us? He has social munchousen syndrome.

I trust nothing that thing in WH says, and rest assured that everything he says is only to benefit his agenda. To keep our rage for cop killers down, he will urge all of us to be calm and unite? Ha, that's great.

Can't wait for him to leave our WH. He set us back 200 years.
:iagree: Sadly, the POTUS, former and current Attorney Generals, former Sec of State Clinton, former White House Chief of Staff Emmanuel and may others in the current administration stoked and fed the flames of racial divide and animosity towards law enforcement. Just last week POTUS met with, and forced members of law enforcement to meet with, members of a group that is clearly a domestic terrorist organization that has ties to other domestic terrorists organizations. Clearly, the only reason POTUS did this was because these domestic terrorist organizations are:
1. Comprised mostly of blacks
2. Their agendas are not in conflict with his own.

Extremists who resort to violence are (at this time) a small majority of whites, latinos, blacks, asians, muslims, etc. Their views are twisted and not acceptable to a civilized society. The remaining majority of people must stand united and make it clear that such behavior is unacceptable. The remaining majority must stand united that guns, trucks, hammers, knives, etc are not the problem - the extremists are the problem and will not be tolerated.

If the majority is not able to stand united and address the real problem, the country's will continue to slide toward anarchy and there will be much loss of life on all sides.

You're right, my "little poster" wouldn't, just like terrorist they are willing to die for their cause. Now, I am in no way saying let's go vigilante and go help LE in this type of situation. I'm simply saying I have their backs. Letting LE know my stance could lift someone up. My wife and I finally went over the weekend to the memorial, you could tell who felt the love and support and who had no hope this would get better.

So you're right it won't do anything for that crazy person who wants to gun down every LEO in the nation.

I read that Long was also to some degree, an adherent to black liberation theology. What the article failed to mention was that obama's 'reverend' jeremiah wright was also grounded in BLT & as were his 'sermons' that obama listened to for 20 years.

BLT is rooted in marxism & socialism
