We live in a time when it has become PC to put our country down. Our very own Muslim-in-Chief goes out of his way to apologize to the world for American greatness and do everything in his power to tear the country apart. Of course, this sets the stage for his millions of sycophants to follow suit, mostly for their own personal gain.
What we need is more flag waving patriots, not fewer. We need to stay "in their face" just as they do to us for every stupid libtard idea that comes down the pike.

In the weeks following 911, this country came together as a nation for the first time since WWII. However, it didn't last long. The fact that we as a country elected not once but twice, a person that does not care about anything except his own personnel gain and how low he can take us, tells me we need more flag waving of the American flag and less of the PC flags that have been waving far too long.
Well said!Pawpaw wrote:I could not disagree with you more, Dale.

Plenty of us do both, whats it matter if I fly a flag?dale blanker wrote:For others who think flag waving is neat: how about volunteering or donating to a worthwhile cause instead?

(yes, I know I left out the words "under God", keep reading)I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Why do you consider these things mutually exclusive? I think flag flying is more that neat....its awesome, and I've started my own worthwhile cause with my mom.dale blanker wrote:For others who think flag waving is neat: how about volunteering or donating to a worthwhile cause instead?
Yes, all you say is true but what does it have to do with flags on fire engines?bblhd672 wrote:I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Many people say it's just a piece of cloth, what's the big deal?
Well, it is a big deal, at least to me, because of the words in the Pledge of Allegiance above: "and to the Republic for which it stands". The flag is a symbol of our Constitutional Republic, of the values which ALL American citizens and those who desire to become American citizens should aspire to: "one Nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
When Americans, and those desiring to be Americans, look at the flag they should see the symbol of a nation that offers liberty and justice for all peoples who come together for a common cause.

THAT is the Pledge Of Allegiance I've said all my life, and That is the Pledge that will be said over my grave when I'm laid to rest. the Flag means a lot to me, as it does to many of us here. And whenever I see it, where ever it is, when I look at it I always feel pride, and thank God I live in this country.
I also pray to God that I may continue to be able do do so.
I am older than you, when I learned it "under God" was not part of the pledge as it is now. I agree with everything you said.joe817 wrote:“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
