Even little ol' Boerne has them.
For those that think they have privacy when out in public, Google "live public webcams".
Also, check into "live traffic cams".
I'm a little surprised this seems to be new news.

It seems like "Big Brother" is becoming "Creepy Stalker ex-Girlfriend".

As far as cameras and plate readers being utilized in the past, this is true at the Border crossings , which is on Federal land and done by the DEA. These methods have not been utilized on City and State land or roadways. If cameras had been utilized, why haven't the Police utilized them for the purpose they are claiming now?
I lived for 27 years in a town that had cameras all over the boardwalk area since 9/11 and they had facial recognition software tied to the big system in the sky, and license plate readers tied to the DMV. They never had a single hit on facial recognition, but they used the heck out of the plate readers to curtail cruising the boardwalk. I know that I certainly slept more safely knowing that nobody could circle the strip more than twice ever 30 minutes.
