Shooting across the street from me

That's crazy. Right about 8 o'clock that night I was sitting in University Medical Center in Lubbock and a guy came in on the life-flight with a gunshot wound or two and immediately went into a trauma room. Too far away to be the same guy, but weird coincidence.

Any word on motive? Drug-deal gone bad? Armed robbery? Personal dispute?

Although, my not so speculative speculation, based on having lived here since 1998, is it was a gang hit. We've got Hispanic gangs, recently arrived African-American Gangs, an Asian gang, folks with the Aryan Brotherhood, and even a 1%er clubhouse all wishin a 3 mile radius. I live here because it's across the street from the church I pastor.

Very, very, bad news. Not the pastor part of course.

One of the assailants pulled a gun and shot him six times at point blank range. The victim got up and walked /ran about 1/2 block to the SW before collapsing.

I cut out the parts that were important for what I am going to say.

People when someone asks you why you need to shoot someone more than once. There you go. That also goes to all the people that carry that think they only need to shoot someone once. I know I'm preaching to the choir.
