What I am wondering is at this point do you have a right to use deadly force or do you have to wait for him to point the gun at you and fire?
If this was my house I would have the same view point as the camera out a bedroom window, maybe a little higher.
I would feel bad if these guys got away and ended up killing someone down the road.

1) get me gun trained on them
2) call 911
3) never ever let them know that I am aware of what they are doing.
4) assist LE if needed. I bet if they open fire they will hide between the car and "my" window... bad choice sucker!

Side note: i have nothing in my car and always have it unlocked in my driveway. Ya, twice a kid rummaged through it. Not worth my time.

This discussion rubs me the wrong way. I too would arm myself, call for someone to save me, and curse quietly at the security screen. Can't imagine why any criminal would complain that "They're supposed to just hand over the money."

The LEO's need to know the BG's are armed. That kid might shoot the Police when they pull up.

Explain the situation over the phone brief and as detailed as possible. Also let them know you are armed as well. So more they know up front so better they can deal with the situation.

What would you do if you looked at your security camera and saw this?
This is from a post in my area. One is in the truck while another is standing watch. There is at least one other in a car in front of the truck, in the street. The one standing watch is looking at the front door.
I'm pretty sure the one in the car can see the side gate from the backyard.
My first reaction is I would want to go out there, but they do have it covered.

So what happened? Were the police called while armed suspects were at the scene?

I would activate the sonic deterrent cannon I have installed in front of my driveway. If that didn't work, I'd set off the 3 Claymores I have covering the area. My trained attack dogs would clean up any remaining mess.

But in the world of reality, I would get my shotgun out of the safe and then call the police and then try to induce the peace loving thugs to go somewhere else by turning the driveway light off and back on while making noise in the garage.

My understanding is this was found upon play back of video. I'm guessing they didn't have motion detection alerts turned on. One person posted LEO woke them to tell them their truck doors were open. Multiple vehicles were hit on the same night.

What a great idea. In a recent thread there was mention of a wrecking ball and crane. One could feed off that idea and set up their own wrecking ball attached to the roof. No need for a crane. 1 swoop and they are gone. But wait, what caliber should that wrecking ball be? HHHMMMM.
