big mistake

Post by striker55 »

Thought I could send in my application without return receipt and just call up to confirm they have it. Mailed on 8/27 and they still cant tell me if they have it. So now I sit on pins and needles wondering if they do. Figured that I did the online registration it would show up under online status, was I wrong. I'm sure its there but dont know.

I did this as well, and it took between five and six weeks from when I sent the application in and it showed as processing on the web site.

Patience... :ack:

Much has been said of the additional cost of registered postage. I think it is a small investment considering what has already been put out for the class and license fee. When the office claims your forms have not been received and you can prove to them they have it really lights a bigger fire under them to find it. It happened in my case.

July 1 mailed the packet.
July 5 delivery confirmation received
July 9 DPS deposits the check
July 27 got notice that I failed to sign one of the fingerprint cards arggh
July 27 signed fingerprint card and mailed back to Austin
July 28 Delivery confirmation that fingerprint card was received at CHL office
August 8 sent email requesting pin
August 9 received pin via email
August 21 Website still shows application missing information called CHL office to be told that application is being processed and website is behind and has problems
August 23 No change in status
August 29 Processing Application
September 6 Received 2 envelopes with same PIN #'s

I sent mine with delivery confirmation. Like someone said, I've got enough sunk into this process to spring for another buck or two. Even so, time drags on ever so slowly...

Good luck, keep in mind that the Post Office does deliver the huge majority of the mail without error. I hope you get a heads up soon.

Finally online says processing application. Some progress and some relief about if they ever got it.
