The Goverment

Post by lawrnk »

So, 31 days have passed now. Is it me, or do we have the most inefficient government? It seems like anything from the government takes a few months. If the Gov was a private business, it would have the worst consumer/BBB rating in the world, and would go out of business in 6 months.

On the flip side, it could be worse. Getting a land line in India installed takes 6 months if you bribe, over a year if you don't. Just venting, I suppose I should be grateful for our slow government.

I was chatting with a guy in NY and he said it can take up to 6 months for pistol permit there. And thats just to own a pistol, not even for carry.

Last week I spent 30 pretty irritated minutes at a Post Office in line. There were probably 25 or more people in line and exactly two people working.

I agree it can be frustrating.

You need a permit to simply "own" a gun?
I thank god every day I left Yankee land in 1979.

Yep. In about a dozen states. And you need to renew it periodically. And when you pass away, if someone else in your home doesn't have a permit, bye-bye to your collection.

I hope so. The last thing I want is a government that is more efficient at restricting rights.

If the Gov was a private business, it would have the worst consumer/BBB rating in the world, and would go out of business in 6 months.

We can wish. Vote Ron Paul!

Kb,

Did you see the debates? I like that Ron Paul is a constitutionalist. I also like his views on firearm rights. Its too bad he bombed at the debates.
