Hello,

Has anyone waited for so long on the Background Check and then gave them a call? If so, when you called them, did they help?

Thanks

If you call, they will only tell you they have 60 days.

That’s because they do have 60 days. I’d mark your calendar right at the 60 day date & call them then.

I called after thirty days and no stays on the board. I’m glad I did because they did not send a email or letter telling me that they did not have all of the required paperwork. (Which I know I sent in). I wish I had called earlier. This is what they told me:
By statute, DPS has up to 60 days to issue an original LTC, and 45 days
to issue a renewal license. However, it is imperative that applicants
understand that these time periods are calculated from the time a
*fully-completed application AND supporting documents are received by
the department. In the event more information or documents are required
to complete an application, DPS has an additional 180 days to complete
the review process.
