Very close by. Suspect apparently fled into Cottonwood Creek. Search seems to be focused now on DART station area just north of Home Depot on Forest (east of 75).. Hope cameras are up!

Channel 5 is reporting one officer has died.
All news reports at 10:00 are reporting both officers and the Home Depot employee are still alive.

The male Officer was shot in the back of the head and the female Officer was shot in the face.

I am not for sure how they missed two guns during a search. It make me wonder if the off duty Officer just didn’t search before handing the suspect off to the Officers arriving on the scene. A lot of information not known at this time.

Prayers for the Officers, the families, and DPD tonight.

The word on my police forums is that the male officer is only being kept alive by machines to give his mother time to get there to say goodbye. Female officer is in serious condition and could go either way still. I am also being told that the Home Depot employee was an off-duty Dallas officer working a part time job. No word on his condition yet, though one report had all three officers shot in the head.

My parents live very close to that HD and were asked to clear out of the area while out exercising. I used to jog around that area when I lived nearby in the 90s. Luckily they got the guy miles away after chasing his truck. At first they thought he was on foot.

Saw an update by the Chief. The two DPD officers and store security officer are all out of surgery.

I'm hearing from other sources though that the officer who was shot in the head it not expected to make it, they are essentially trying to keep him alive long enough for his mother to be able to see him and say goodbye in person.
