New grips for the 642

Post by cmgee67 »

I wanted some new grips for my 642 instead of the old rubber boot grips. While I like them and they work I wanted to make the gun my own. I found these from Altamont grips and ordered them! Should be here next week. What do you guys think?

Thanks. I think with the gator back stippling it will add more traction on the back strap and protect it. Also the S&W logo is etched on the side of the grips as well

Those are real pretty. Do mind sharing how much they cost?

I have to say that the color case hardening on that pistol in the picture is gorgeous also.

Beautiful grips. My only concern is they don’t appear to be ambidextrous. Maybe I’m wrong.

I am not sure if they are ambi or not.

And TAM they were 75$. They had a really nice pair of silverblack coloring but I was drawn to the rosewood

Beautiful grips, let us know how they handle the little jewel’s recoil.

I think they will handle the recoil just fine. To me the 642 even with +P doesn’t kick that much. I guess I’m just used to shooting large caliber firearms so I’ve never been recoil sensitive.
