Off-Duty Dallas Officer Shoots Armed Robbers at Whataburger

An off-duty Dallas police officer shot and detained two armed men at a Fort Worth Whataburger early Sunday morning, according to police.

Maybe they will change their mind about armed customers open carrying now.....

That's not far from me. Been to that Whataburger many times.

The restaurant would rather the robber just Take the money and go away. Now they have to deal with upset employees.

Im glad he stopped them though!!!!!

I doubt corporate Whataburger's open carry stance will change. It does seem, however, the criminals have misunderstood Whatburger's prohibition of carrying openly to mean that Whataburgers are gun free zones.

If the officer was open carrying would the manager have asked him to leave since that violates their policy?

I doubt Whataburger will change their policy. The policy against open carrying to appease the differences in customer opinions. So, long has I can conceal carry, I'm not concerned. I'd rather the bad guy not know who to target first.
