IL: Good Doggie! Pit Bull FTW
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/loca ... story.html
18 yo would-be robber with a "Colt brand .38-caliber revolver" tried to rob a man in his yard. Friends of the man set their pit bull on the robber, who tried to shoot but suffered several misfires. The dog chomped on the robber's arm, the robber dumped his gun and tried to runaway, and the friends of the man -- armed with a two-by-four in addition to the dog -- "..injured him [the robber] while trying to restrain him..." until police arrived.
Robber was denied bail. Unsurprisingly he "...was on probation for a juvenile armed robbery conviction at the time of his arrest, as well as previous arrests for gun charges."
No one other than the robber was injured. Picture at the link shows robber with his face skinned up a bit. He appeared in court with a bandage on hi arm.

Evidently, he didn't take his stolen gun to the range, to make sure it would fire the ammo he chose. He also forgot his Pit Bull, proof clothing. Love a happy ending!!

Re: IL: Good Doggie! Pit Bull FTW
Got to be fake news. A Colt revolver that wouldn't fire? Oh you have to have ammo too? Kidding of course.
Re: IL: Good Doggie! Pit Bull FTW
Yeah, my guess is, he bought the gun on the street, and it was either defective, not loaded, (and he didn't know how to check) or it had the wrong ammo in it. My money is on the second one.rotor wrote: Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:02 pm Got to be fake news. A Colt revolver that wouldn't fire? Oh you have to have ammo too? Kidding of course.

I would have let the dog chew on him a bit more before contacting the police.

I'm just glad that "no dogs were harmed in the making of this news story" :-)

They should have broke both arms with the 2x4 while shouting “quit resisting”.
