It's a known fact that your iPhone, and apps on them, as well as Alexa and other smart devices monitor and track your usage, including ambient sounds and key words via microphones. Just recently my wife had been talking about an item, but had not searched on her phone or computer, but Facebook suddenly showed up with ads for the item from a couple of different sources.
Our daughter works professionally in corporate social media and will tell you that they track a lot of location and sound data on customers. Most people just click OK on the terms of use agreement when installing an app oe software and fail to realize they have given permission to share data like that.
