An officer doesn't get the boot with a general discharge under less than honorable conditions absent some serious offenses. Such discharges are only given when the Army is trying to cover it's own ass and avoid public embarrassment.

If this guy wants to make himself a public figure he should be smart enough to know that it's all going to come out.

Smartest thing he could do is to shut up and crawl back into his hole.
