I'm no brewer, but I always though the flavor came from the malt, and depending on how long it is toasted, would depend on how much chocolate/coffee flavor it produced. But I could be mistaken.WildBill wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 9:20 amWhat do you add to give the chocolate taste?Commander Cody wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 8:15 am I brew beer. Re: Double Chocolate Stout
I started with a kit from Austin Home Brew. It had chocolate barley and a packet of powdered chocolate for the "double". I used it once but it was not worth the trouble to me. So I guess what I make now is Single Chocolate Stout...and it's real good.

I live in San Antonio and did not know about this place. I need to check this out.aCoffeejunky wrote: Wed May 25, 2016 9:12 am There is a really good micro brewery over in San Antonio, The Busted Sandal, we went there for a tour a while ago. Very good beer! Their Pumpkin Porter was the best I've had.

I don't know much about home brewing, but Double Chocolate Stout is a winner. All I know are commercial brands, but my favorite is Young's.Commander Cody wrote: Mon Apr 22, 2019 8:15 am I brew beer. And my favorite is Double Chocolate Stout.
