Houston won’t even go after criminals breaking the gun laws we have.
Houston Police Union head speaks his mind.
Texas: Houston’s differed adjudication
Re: Texas: Houston’s differed adjudication
Wasn't Kim Ogg elected on a criminal reform platform?? Guess we need to go back to the election booth and make some changes.

Yes but the plea deals make her conviction rate look a lot better and I will be willing to bet she uses that in her next election.bfm1851 wrote: Fri Feb 21, 2020 6:57 am Wasn't Kim Ogg elected on a criminal reform platform?? Guess we need to go back to the election booth and make some changes.

Re: Texas: Houston’s differed adjudication
Reading the article it appears Houston has strayed far from the reason for the implementation of the deferred option. It reads like they are using it to clear an overload of criminal case load. It appears they are rubber stamping deferred cases with no real consideration as to the crime committed. I am sure it was not the original intention of deferred to simply ease case loads.RPBrown wrote: Fri Feb 21, 2020 8:47 amYes but the plea deals make her conviction rate look a lot better and I will be willing to bet she uses that in her next election.bfm1851 wrote: Fri Feb 21, 2020 6:57 am Wasn't Kim Ogg elected on a criminal reform platform??
