Never understood why they put the front sight so far back. It looks funny and can't improve sighting any I wouldn't think.

A pistol without a round chambered is an expensive paper weight.

My guess is it keeps the sight clean. From past experience when shooting ported pistols the sight gets blackened out pretty quick. But like I said just a guess.

Guess I would have to carry my Ruger SP101 357 with a 4.2 inch barrel because right now its the only revolver I have but with a overall length of over 9 inches it may be hard to conceal

If it could only be a revolver and I could spec it out- it would be a 4" barreled J frame in Titanium, .357 with a zero profile hammer & a rubber boot grip.

I have that gun but it's a 2". Shockingly good shooter, light and easy to carry all day.... I did daily for about 10 years. My perfect word [revolver] scenario would be that gun, with some added barrel for distance.

That makes sense. I've never seen one other than photos and didn't know it was ported. It probably needs to be set back. Still looks a bit funny though. :)
