Good training in Dallas area?

Post by Broge5 »

Can anybody recommend a good self defense/combat shooting instructor in the Dallas area.

I apologize if this is the incorrect area to post this question.

South of Dallas near Ferris on I-45 is the Texas Defensive Shooting Academy.

Broge5, I haven't trained with Mr. Davison yet. If I remember correctly he was in the Royal Marines, a member of the SBS, and an instructor for the Special Forces.

A couple of my friends took his precision rifle course and were very impressed with the training. A buddy of mine is assistant instructor there, as well as a former student. They all have taken a lot of classes from many different instructors, so I value their recomendations.

Some other options here:

But I don't think you'll go wrong with Davison. A friend of mine took a training class from Davison before he went to Afghanistan... and said it was money well spent.

Give Joe a call at Jacobsplain Gun Club, if you're willing to go out to the Greenville area.

Robert Duhon from Texas Pistol Academy near Sherman does a very good job... highly recommended. I have taken several classes with Robert and have been very satisfied.
