I think a whole lot of people feel that way today. I took a lot of crap from folks who I would otherwise see as great people back in 2012 because I refused to vote for Romney. It's 8 years later and I am at least happy that people have come around. Romney is not our friend.

Reading between the lines and guessing at some of it, I think the problem was that he was using one of the AKs they seized for the plaque. Technically, this would be improper handling of evidence or possibly misappropriation of government property since the seized weapons belong to the US government now. As his lawyer says, he could have been told to redo the paperwork asking permission to do this or to just put the rifle back where it belongs, but with this administration (assuming the Navy ran it that high or even cares - they have their own little political fiefdoms too).
