Probably have the range to yourself. Have fun
Re: Range time thoughts
My "range" is in my back yard plus 40+ acres to the east. I'm presently showing 14°F, 24 knot wind from northwest, and a chill factor of -4°F.
No shooting here today unless a real reason shows up!

Re: Range time thoughts
Yup, it was brutal yesterday when the wind blew in.
Finished up a three day class yesterday that culminated with multiple shoot / no-shoot scenarios with the student moving between cover. Felt the temperature drop from around 60* to mid-30*'s almost instantly around noon-thirty, then the wind started to gust. The static targets were gyrating in the stands, & some of the prop walls used for cover, which were staked into the ground + a sandbag on the legs, came crashing down. Wasn't a show stopper, and was cool to see the student take it all in stride!
Luckily we only had about another 30 minutes till complete, and there was good motivation to get the range cleaned up rickety tick. But I did discover that spray paint doesn't like sticking to frozen steel...

nope she was freezing and not wanting to be there anymore, it was funny we left house around 2 am, drove a little over an hour to get to the property, it was clear at the house and by time we got to the property it was sleeting and temps falling fast, wind was picking up.wheelgun1958 wrote: Fri Dec 23, 2022 1:14 pmDid she get her pig?powerboatr wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 10:26 pm03Lightningrocks wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 7:30 pmI am thinking maybe your wife is right.powerboatr wrote: Thu Dec 22, 2022 6:59 pm my wife thought i was nutzz

it was dark as a cave 40000 feet under ground (no moon or stars), got all set up in the blind and in less than hour we were both almost froze solid, so we sat in truck to warm up . well she warmed up, then we proceeded to take down the blind, tables, chairs, ladders, rifles etc.
we watched sun come up and then left. bad day all around up there. it was so cold the mud was crunchy
