Booker led the aide around a U.S. Capitol Police security checkpoint on Monday night, later resulting in the arrest. Capitol Police officers are required to check aides and others at checkpoints, regardless if they are with a member of Congress.

The United States Capitol Police said in a statement, "Yesterday afternoon, a Member of Congress led an ID'ed staff member around security screening at the Hart Senate Office Building

John Lott makes a great point:

The staffer was a retired police officer, but it is ironic how Dems don't like retired police officers carrying concealed handguns when they travel nationwide. See last week's vote in the House Judiciary Comm, when all Dems voted "no."
BTW, the Capitol is also a gun-free zone.

A perfect example of the hypocrisy of that party. Hopefully the aid will be convicted and at the very least get the same treatment as this guy:
Jerod Thomas Bargar was sentenced to five years probation, six months of home confinement, and a $4,000 fine for carrying a firearm during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. And of course forever be prohibited from possessing weapon or ammo.

This makes Booker a conspirator, yes?
