I love the FN Reflex. Great gun.
I am looking for others' opinions on carrying a single action only, hammer-fired, with no manual safety. FN specs says it has a 5lb trigger. Mine ranges 4.25 - 5.25lbs. To me, any SAO hammer fired should have a manual safety. Is my brain stuck in 1911 thinking? My other carry guns are 1911 style. Should I be concerned about having a consistant "code of arms"?
I saw that FN now has a Reflex with manual safety.
Your thoughts?

Re: FN Reflex SAO with no Manual Safety
Anyone know which direction the manual safty works on the Reflex? If it's up to fire, this is a non issue, I don't want it. If it's down to fire it's a consideration.

I can't say for sure, but watching the videos on their website it appears to be up while shooting. I am searching for a particular gun and will keep my eyes open for one to let you know though.

IMO, any SAO should have a safety. I grew up with my dad's 1911 so I was raised with the way it operated and constantly toggling the safety on and off. Not familiar with the Reflex but I picked up a Sig P229 Legion in SAO. I wanted a double stack 9mm but wanted to try something a little different. I do like the fact that it does not have a beaver tail safety and the SAO trigger is very nice. Something else to consider.joeybcdt wrote: Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:46 pm I love the FN Reflex. Great gun.

Jose,
I'll second the 226 SAO Legion. I got one a few months ago. Excellent build quality but haven't fired it yet. Along those lines, after salivating for a year, I got a BUL SAS UL 3.5". Very high quality and shoots like a dream.
