ATF Zero Tolerence Policy Recalled

Post by puma guy »

The Biden ATF policy of Zero Tolerance that was used to set a record for FFL revocations, many for minor infractions, is being recalled or repealed if you will. There was a 1300% increase in revocations. Bondi doesn't exactly have a stellar history in regards to 2A issues, but as the video title states, it's a start I suppose to improve it. Time will tell. Meanwhile FFL holders can breathe a little easier.

My renewal is this year. I must say, the last IOI I had during the O years was fair. I had some minor infractions that he could have gigged me for (paperwork oversights) and he just noted them and had me correct them. Hopefully I get him again this year.

I'm glad it went well. There are agents that no doubt were not in alignment with Biden's policies and were more tempered in their approach. I went through several audits back in the 60s and early 70's and all the agents were decent except one who wrought his vengeance after I replied to a comment he made. He said we were responsible for a murder for legally selling a rifle to a man that used it in a homicide. Unfortunately, I asked him if he blamed car dealerships for fatal auto accidents. Luckily he found nothing wrong after spending 3-1/2 days pouring over every sale we had made since a previous audit. Back then we also had to keep records for every round of pistol ammo we sold, including rimfire.

The unfortunate thing is that they can make an FFL’s life difficult. For me, it is not my primary means of income (if it were I would be homeless by now) but the brick and mortar stores can suffer catastrophic losses for simple errors. I am all for weeding out FFL’s that knowingly break the law and sell to prohibited persons. But they need to allow for human error, no matter how hard we try, there will always be minor errors simply because we are human. I will see how it goes this year.

:thumbs2: Hopefully those minor errors will no longer be used to ruin, sometimes decade old FFL businesses.

Forwarding to my local FFL, who went through Hell with the ATF.
They had to go back 16 years and in that total time, they found three total minor typos, and called it "a pattern".
When he refused to "voluntarily relinquish" his FFL and took them to court, they just kept getting continuances until he was due for renewal, then they refused to renew his license. He is still in court with them.
Bastidges :(

My last auditor wanted to see all my bound books since I started, no other IOI had asked that. He told me that they were all supposed to do that.
