You actually do bring up a good point.

On of the niceties of usernames on online forums is the (relative) anonymity that it provides. It keeps the average employer, nosy neighbor, or run-of-the-mill Karen from making our lives difficult.

However, there are a number of us who've been on this forum for a long time, and have a degree of trust in communications with each other. I know that those of us who used to do the SE Houston Breakfast all have each other's contact info, and I've also had some other-then-forum communications with a few other folks.

For instance, on this specific thread, I've met & had breakfast with Take Down Sicko, and Surprise I'm Armed, but I don't recall if I have y'all's contact info if needed. I do know how to reach TAM - although I've only talked to him once via phone.

Is there anyone here data-savvy enough to create something that would allow us to share more info, but only with whom we wish? I'd be happy to 'mark' my info as viewable to TAM, for instance, but that doesn't mean it would automatically be public to everyone in his network - just those that I intentionally select.

Or, perhaps there's a feature on the forum software itself that might allow for hand-picking 'friends' with whom we'd be happy to share info? (While that's a potential solution, I'm still thinking something separate or downloadable, for when the forum is down.

Just opening up for ideas, if anyone has them. I don't like when comms are completely cut off, and there's always that potential, whether it's through simple forum issues or deliberate attacks.

I do recall the times we had our breakfast meets in Katy's Rudy's BBQ. I've forgotten all the other screen names of the folks that I've met there from this forum. The only one i do remember is Vol Texan. It was fun to gather and sling the bull for an hour or two. I wish we had exchanged phone numbers at that time to be able to communicate in cases like these.
