When pressed for details by The Firearm Blog regarding the issue with the P320, Debra Webb, a public information officer with the Dallas PD, said the following: “The department was notified that Sig Sauer identified a defect in the P320 handgun that could cause the weapon system to go off when dropped. Please check with Sig Sauer for more information about the defect.”

I was hesitant to post this when I first saw it, as I do have an issue with him using a screw in the trigger, but in full length youtube video at the beginning, he shows that what he is trying to measure is that with the trigger barely touched but not pulled all the way, the play in the slide causes the P320 an uncommanded discharge. But I think anyone who has a Sig P320 should watch and make their own decision, but as noted above in PriestTheRunner's post, some ranges are banning them.

Kinda like how Sig quietly updated the user manual to state to keep the chamber empty until ready to shoot.

(Revision 11) explicitly states in bold: “CARRY YOUR PISTOL WITHOUT A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER”

The Sig forums noticed this in April 2025, along with Reddit. The 365 Manual doesn't have the same bolded emphasis either.

If I owned a gun, I would only have guns with a side mounted safety carried with a bullet in the chamber. I have seen a video I will never forget of a poor jeweler trying to rack the slide while he is being repeatedly hit by bullets from one or more robbers.

I am unfamiliar with this gun. Can you lock the trigger with a safety?

I’ve noticed a lot of YouTube activity about this gun, it seems to be growing and not going away. So it must be really serious. I noticed a Houston police officer is suing SIG for being injured by this gun.
