It’s election season again, and as Presiding Judge for my precinct, I’m building my team for Election Day, 4 November.
This is a paid position (including a short online training). We’ll be working a polling place near Bridgeland in northwest Houston—about a 12-hour day with breaks. By law, poll workers must remain unarmed, but I’m legally authorized to carry and will be doing so throughout the day.
The only requirement is that you’re a registered Harris County voter. If you’re interested, send me a PM or email me at Chris (at) HoustonLTC (dot) com, and I’ll get you set up with the training info.
And while we all have political preferences, our role on Election Day is to set those aside and make sure every eligible voter has the chance to cast a ballot fairly and freely.
