I have avoided counting days until this week and am really disappointed.

I moved from the east coast last year and suspect that the state I called home for the first 37 years of my life may be to blame for the slow background check.

Have you contacted DPS to make sure it was recieved?

I called them last week and they said they are waiting on the background check to be completed.

Welcome to freedom. Sorry for the wait and I wish there was something that could be done to help. Maybe get your congress critters on the line and see? Even if TX DPS is just waiting for Maryland, maybe they could call your previous LE agency and light a fire. Maybe...

I feel your pain. I had so many things in my favor that "should" have expedited the process (security clearance, FAST prints) but my status just changed yesterday after 89 days.
