Glock 26X

Post by JRG »

I have a 26 Gen 5. I use the pinky extension on my 10 round mags so as to have a more comfortable grip. I have started seeing u-tube videos about a 26X frame that the Glock Store has developed. It allows a full three fingered grip AND utilizes the Glock 19 15 round mags. This looks like a good thing. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a mini Glock 45? With a bigger grIp and shorter slide? I like the 45 and this sounds like a smaller version of it. I watched the video a while back but don't remember, did they add a rail to this as well?

I believe the 26X frame has a rail. Glockstore now calls it the M1X or some such. I guess Glock didn't like them using the number 26.

I carry a Glock 26 Gen 4 and on my 'g26 10 round magazine in the gun I use a Pearce Grip Extension For GLOCK 26. I also carry 2 - G19 15rd spare magazines with X-Grip.

https://www.pearcegrip.com/products/glock-gen-4-pg-26g4

These help with the grip but I find that the way they are angled does not have a corner that prints when holstered when wearing tshirts or other summer clothing. I have a G19 and find a small amount of printing when wearing marginal clothing that I don't experience with the G26 even with the pearcegrip.

https://www.glockstore.com/X-Grip-for-G ... ustcol9=65

These essentially make your grip a G19 Grip when using them with a G19 magazine in a G26.

I have carried this setup for years wearing marginally concealing clothing especially in the Texas heat with no problems.

Gen 6 Glocks come out January 22nd. Not sure if there will be any changes to the 26, but other pistols have changes coming. Here is what I am told will be the changes:

Tested to an even higher standard than the Gen 5
A blend of RTF2 and RTF4 grip texture, allowing for a more CZ style feel (texture wise)
Glock mapped all their employees hand sizes, took the average, and implemented a palm swell into the grip
Included a gas pedal on the frame for better thumb placement
All models now come with a flared magwell
Flat faced Glock Performance Trigger
An OEM undercut underneath the trigger guard to get a high purchase on the gun
Extended beaver tail
Re-engineered the extractor channel (a lot of optic screws would punch through and cause a loose extractor)

I believe I saw that all Gen 6 models would come with slides red dot ready.
