Tucker Gunleather suddenly shut down

I received this message on Facebook last night. They have ceased operation and as of now, any pending orders will not be filled or money returned.
This is so sad. They had a great product. I own several of their holsters and mag pouches. Hopefully he can at least find a way to either fulfill his orders or return the money already paid.

He's had issues for years, IIRC.

I recommend that you file a claim with your credit card company. They can refund you, as well as collect from his bank account directly assuming it's still open. Make it their problem, they get paid plenty to take care of problems caused by merchants.

This^^^ Capital One refunded me over $13,000 when a cruise line went belly-up and offered no refunds.

Fortunately I have received everything I have ordered. Just wanted to let everyone else know. Sad part is, I really liked his holsters

Tucker made very good holsters and after they started having problems I looked for another brand. Lately I have been buying Azula holsters. Made in South Africa imported to North Carolina supposedly. Good leather, stitching and overall quality at a very good price. If you try one I think you will be impressed, I own several and really like them. Just ordered a cross draw for 3.5" bbl 1911 to see how that is going to work. Belts look good and will try one of them soon.

If you can fulfill the order then don’t take the money. How about not spending other people’s money on anything until their product has been fulfilled. I thought he had more character. Disappointing.

Yeah, that's the funny part about the whole thing. He got the reputation and money doing pretty much nothing.

The names are similar but they were NOT the same company.

With Tucker Gunleather going out of business and taking over 600 customer's money with them, I think it would be prudent of us to set a few things straight. Our company is Tucker & Byrd LLC. For the last 15 years we have manufactured all of the products Rob Longenecker sold on his website. Every HF-1, every mag pouch, every belt, everything, Everything he sold, he paid us to make. The Deep Carry polymer line is Tucker & Byrd's patented product conceived and developed by Charles Byrd and his men in his Porter TX shop. We allowed Rob Longenecker to offer this line of products on his website. That offer of course has been rescinded.

Tucker Gunleather and Rob Longenecker were basically dealers for the products Tucker & Byrd made. Tucker Gunleather does not and has never owned a leather shop or produced a single leather product. They just sold the work others did and enjoyed the high praise of the quality work Charles Byrd and his staff at Tucker & Byrd produced. We were fine with that as long as he paid his bills.

As a result of Tucker Gunleather's financial problems, we at Tucker & Byrd were left holding a large number of completed, custom orders that had not been paid for by TGL. This amounted to thousands of dollars in time and materials incurred by Tucker & Byrd. To mitigate some of these expenses, we made the decision to ship the orders to TGL's customers along with an invoice in the amount of the wholesale price we would have originally received for this work and hope that the customers could recover their funds from the credit card companies and then pay for the new, discounted invoices. As of this date a number of the customers immediately sent in payment with most of the others agreeing to send payment after recovering their missing funds. There are still a few who have not responded to our email notification. Check your inboxes, if your order is completed we would like to ship the order to you. We'll worry about payment after you are made whole.

I knew Tucker 25 years ago. I got to go to his shop once. Really interesting and he was an amazing leather craftsman. It was cool watching him work. And taking my stuff home with me after the visit.
