I voted for Hunt. Today I'll hold my nose and vote for Paxton.

Whipping for fix NICS and splitting out concealed carry reciprocity from that bill was the last straw for me.

Well Paxton won for now. I am afraid because of it we will have a Democrat in the Senate. I wonder when the last time we had a Democrat representing Texas.

Talarico is unelectable in Texas. There's too much video for him to overcome.

Dems want Beto back.

Glad Cornyn is gone...er.. going.

Cornyn’s betrayals finally caught up with him. Good riddance! :txflag:

We'll see. It looks like I'm going to do something I never thgought I'd do while I was still alive ... vote for a Democrat. There's no way I can vote for a crook like Paxton.

I believe this is what a lot of people will do. All those chanting Paxton now I hope can remember how happy they were during the run off’s. Talarico’s crowd wanted to face Paxton for the very reason you mentioned.

This is the problem I see with the current race and why I wished Trump had been smart and not endorsed either one. He should have said something about how he likes both and can work with either one.

I wanted Cornyn out. I believe he betrayed us when he worked on the so-called bi-partisan gun bill, which fortunately failed anyway. I also don't trust Trump for the same reason. He was pro-gun and betrayed us during his first term with several executive orders (bump stocks quickly come to mind). I had thought he had better political advisors this time around, but I guess he could not resist flexing his political muscles by making the endorsement. I note he waited until the last minute and saw how it was going first though.

I honestly cannot stand Paxton. I believe he was about as crooked as any politician could be. I know that there is not enough evidence to convict him, but my opinion of him will never change.

I am concerned that Talarico might win because of the baggage Paxton is carrying. I will not vote for either of them, no matter what. I can't bring myself to vote for a Democrat and I won't vote for Paxton. Instead of voting Democratic, I will probably skip voting in that race. I might vote for the Libertarian candidate still, but will probably simply abstain. I recommend that to anyone in a position like me - who can't vote for Paxton and doesn't want to vote for Talarico.

I believe you are 100% spot on. I was told by someone close to the Talarico camp that they wanted Paxton because they thought in November Paxton’s baggage will have weighted him down and republicans would loose.

I can certainly understand not voting for either. IMHO, voting for Talarico is like voting for the devil wrapped in a ministers garb.
If my choice is between 2 flawed candidates, Ive little choice but to vote on the issues and on the issues, Paxton wins easily. YMMV, respectfully.
