I guess they don't like guns or customers that carry them. This is the only institution in the area that does this. When I redraw funds, I will tell the manager my reason!

If its a retail sales place, fill up your cart with what you want to buy, go to the register with it loaded, then ask the cashier to see the manager. When he/she approaches you, explain to them that due to their policy of disarming law abiding citizens, that they have lost a customer and this much in sales. Then walk out.

If it's not a 30.06 sign then just ignore it. Speaking for myself I've got more important things in life to worry about than a non compliant sign.jvanwink wrote:What do you do when merchants post no gun signs? My financial institution just posted a sign. I am considering changing financial institutions.

Is it 30:06 compliant? My bank had a sign I took to mean not to bring a Beretta 92F or something similer. I don't carry that paticular gun so I never really felt I needed to ask.

If it is 30:06 I would hope you do a few things. To start with, call and talk to the person in charge and ask them why they posted. Tell them the unreasonable things we must go thru to carry as a reason for them to remove the signs. Also, write all of his/her bosses and tell them why your leaving and what is required of us. I would inform them that you are going to move your money and that you were going to write a letter to the editor of local papers mentioning why you left the bank and what it takes for a CHL holder to become licensed. Be professional and totally unemotional & informative. If they don't want to take them down, post them online as a place not to do business and discourage every person you know from doing business with them. If they don't want us then they should be outed. That is my opinion.

I don't think ticking off the manager and some poor stock boy is going to prove your point.flb_78 wrote:If its a retail sales place, fill up your cart with what you want to buy, go to the register with it loaded, then ask the cashier to see the manager. If they don't see us as civil people, we gain no ground.

If you believe in something, you should fight for it, or stop complaining things you care about get encroached on.
Being polite killed 6 million Jews, so NEVER EVER be afraid to speak up, even if something seems minor. You never know, you speaking your mind might lead to that store removing its sign. The removal of the sign might prevent the next Omaha. Wether it helps save Six or Six Million, it's worth an effort.

You can get business cards from TSRA that basically says I saw your sign and will take my business elsewhere on one side and on the back it lists all the things CHL holders have to go through and asks "How much do you know about your other customers?" Ask for the manager or owner and just give it to them.
I got 50 cards and gave some to other CHL people I know.

I would like to agree and disagree.
I think it's important to stand up and be counted but filling a cart full of stuff that some minimum wager is going to have to restock is no way to win the hearts and minds of the enemy!
Re: No gun signs
actually it stemmed from countries like England, Poland, and the United States of America forming isolationist policies and ignoring the slaughter of millions until it was "a threat to our nation"...nitrogen wrote: Being polite killed 6 million Jews,
There were movements and even an extremely underfunded American "attempt"
then after we do join the war, we pass anti-immigration laws to keep those still alive from running here.. essentially cutting the number legally allowed per year to almost 20% of it's previously allowed limit...
Don't kid yourself it had nothing to do with being polite. We ignored the issue...
There's a method to protest these places... and it's not by issuing your mandates to the poor assistant manager or making some stock boy's day worse... SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE, send a letter to their corporate office explaining why, and leave the employees out of it... they have no recourse to fix it most of the time.

Wow, there's some revisionist history!Lykoi wrote:actually it stemmed from countries like England, Poland, and the United States of America forming isolationist policies and ignoring the slaughter of millions until it was "a threat to our nation"...nitrogen wrote: Being polite killed 6 million Jews,
Poland was isolationist? They were the first country invaded; they had no option to be "isolated" from the war. England delayed military involvement while Chamberlain was PM, but that is better described as "appeasement with fingers crossed" than isolationist. As soon as Churchill was elected, England was militarily involved, even if they did get kicked off the mainland from Dunkirk until Normandy.
The United States didn't "ignore the slaughter of millions until it was 'a threat to our nation'"; concentration camps had no bearing at all on entering the war. The large-scale slaughter didn't begin until we were already at war with Germany, and wasn't truly known until GIs liberated concentration camps. Germany was already defeated before Americans at large knew about the Holocaust.
Yikes.
I didn't mean to start a whole argument on WWII and the Holocaust.
All I wanted to point out is that you should NEVER be afraid to speak up, or speak out, in whatever way you feel appropriate. Don't worry about being "Impolite" either.
Let's get back to the topic at hand, k?

Poland largely accepted the Nazi party... but they also to a non-stance to the issue when it started... feel free to readKBCraig wrote:Lykoi wrote:

Antisemitism at High Tide
The Abandonment of the Jews
It's not revisionist... believing the US found out and "did the right thing" is blind patriotism. And the US, knew about the Nazi's agenda and the persecution of the Jews long before we "joined the effort"
If you want to continue this please PM me, as it's something i've studied for a long time and would be glad to share these sources as well as more if interested.
but i agree this has little to do with the topic posted...
so in the nature of the OP: no carry/no weapon signs are a means to inform the criminals we won't be armed... if they want to protect their employees and the customers it's better to not advertise no one will be armed... these signs are counter-intuitive to the issue, and simply allow criminals to target places where the likelihood of armed resistance is less likely... the only people who will obey their wishes are law abiding citizens and after the Nebraska shooting, i think it's obvious that those signs won't stop a criminal...
