I do wonder what was snipped out; hence, the "..." in the quoted question."Do you support state legislation to … ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns?" asked one of the three dozen questions.
"Yes," was Obama's entire answer.

And you expected?????????
A radical, liberal, black, muslim and you thought maybe he'd be pro-gun?
Nope, not a chance, the stupid damocraps have not yet learned how much being antigun can hurt, but, he will and soon. This could be the winning shot for the Hildebeast, she can't say anything for or against, but, we know, she just won't say. I was seriously hoping this would not come up before the first primaries.
Go! Mike! Go!

Never thought he would be pro-gun. I am shocked to see how amazingly anti-gun he turns out to be (at least for a mid-wersterner!)pistolchamp wrote:A radical, liberal, black, muslim and you thought maybe he'd be pro-gun?

This is completely in character for him.
He sells himself as a proponent of some kind of airy "third way" that trancends normal politics. Of course all he is doing there is adopting "political packaging" developed by European Leftists such as Schroeder and Blair.
Note that after running Germany for a few years, Schroeder was practically run out town on a political rail.
Obama doesn't transcend politics or anything else. His solution to the process of contesting political issues is that we should all just agree with him and the rest of the Leftists.
"Forget about Liberal and Conservative. Those are just old labels used to divide people. Just do it my way.", about sums it up.
All of his third way claptrap is just the current trendy disguise of the Left.
And like all Leftists, he wants to take away all the guns.
So if it ends up being between Obama and Giuliani will y'all still vote for Obama, or "Slow Wheat"? (or stay home)
I won't.

He may claim to not be muslim, but I bet he's knelt on a rug facing the Mecca a time or two.bpet wrote:He's not Muslim but I'm not sure about her.

Ok, this is great!
So lemme see if I got this right...
His wife understands the need for people who live in rural areas to have guns, and he agrees I suppose with her...
Yet this comes out into the light, and no one outside of our gun owning community calls him a hypocrite and a liar???
Ok, I'll do it...
Barack "Hussien" Obama (democrat party presidential candidate) is a hypocrite and a liar...And I hope he wins the democrat nomination! Because he will get trounced next November...

His actual church affiliation is scary enough; it's silly to claim he's some kind of secret Muslim because of his birth name.anygunanywhere wrote:He may claim to not be muslim, but I bet he's knelt on a rug facing the Mecca a time or two.bpet wrote:He's not Muslim but I'm not sure about her.

But if he (Obama) was running against Rudy, who would all those gun owners be voting for?Charles L. Cotton wrote:lawrnk wrote:I really hope he gets the nomination. I think it would destroy the chances of the libs taking the white house. We'd be able to get every gun owner to the polls!
Chas.
Please consider that there is no realistic scenario that ALL or even "most" of America's 70 million or so gun owners could be pursuaded to vote for a minor party candidate or to write in Wayne LaPierre for president or something like that.
And it seems to me that of the overall group of gun owners, the ones who COULD be so pursuaded would be the most conservative/libertarian of the bunch. This group typically strongly trends Republican.
So to the extent that some portion of gun owners are pursuaded to vote for a minor party candidate, out of principle, these represent votes that would otherwise go for the Republican.
So the question becomes, would that drain enough votes from Rudy that Obama ended up getting elected?
And remember, Rudy isn't my first choice. He isn't even my second choice. I'm just asking "What if" here.

Re:
Yes, we have both agreed that Rudy is slightly better than Hillary. I think Rudy is signifigantly bettery than Obama. Something makes me feel Rudy is gonna "Howard Dean" here in the near future though.frankie_the_yankee wrote:But if he (Obama) was running against Rudy, who would all those gun owners be voting for?Charles L. Romney is a good contender, but flip flops and panders to polls. He also favors the renewal of the AWB
Rudy is nearly identical to Hillary on immigration, guns, abortion, etc..
Paul has awesome ideas, and I agree with him more than any other candidate, but he scartes me to death. Too ambitious in dismantling the federal goverment, and votes NO on anything that is not in the constitution. Politicians have a thousand things to do every day (and even vote on) that are not related to the constitution. some of the stuff he votes no on is ridiculous. But I still love him.
Fred is dead. I liked this guy more than anyone, but he is barely hanging on. No point in bringing him into it.
Huckabee- I'm only now starting to pay attention but I fear he has signifigant skeletons in the closet. Time will tell.
If I were voting today, and they all had a shot? I'd vote Tancredo or Thompson.
