I finally got my PIN!

Well, I'm finally making some progress. I sent my packet in March 27th and I finally got my PIN. DPS sent me a correction form on May 5th, so that slowed me down. I called them Friday and they said they have everything and started processing my application on the 16th. And my letter with my PIN showed up today.

I figured I'd check in, S&W noticed I was missing for awhile and I think he was worried about me! Don't worry! I've been busy at work lately, now I'm just hanging out waiting again.

Since I'm here, I've got a few questions. Has anyone used a "Clipdraw" for their Glock? I've got one on my G30 at the moment. The gun fits in my kydex Fobus paddle holster that I use at the pit/range and the Clipdraw doesn't get in the way. But I'm not sure about using just the Clipdraw all the time. I'd like a real holster option. I'll leave it on just to have another option, but I'd like to get a few other opinions too. Any holsters you other Glock guys like? I'm partial to IWB, small of back or 4:00.

And also, does anyone carry a Sig 232? My mom just got her license in the mail today and she doesn't like the first holster she bought. Any good suggestions or ideas for a small framed female to carry the little Sig?

Congrats. Isn't the waiting fun?

I personally wouldn;t use a clip draw type of thing with a glock. I feel much more comfortable with some type of holster that completely covers the trigger guard. That's just my opinion.

Can't offer any insight on your mom carrying on-body. How she dresses will matter. Several here have much more experienc with the ladies in thier lives carrying and can offer bette advice.

I know I am not a Clip Draw fan anyway but I think a Clip Draw only on any gun w/o an external safety is discharge waithing to happen. Hang the trigger of that G on anything & it is trouble. I have the clip on a 3AT. Have a holster also that covers the trigger. Why both? Like you just don't take it off. The Sig 232 is excellent for ladies. My Mom also has one. She purse carries it. I also use one the wife loans me if I need a deep conceal that I can tuck a shirt over. Highnoon Split Decission. There is a good post here on a lot of holster makers. Look at a lot of pics. Listen to the ladies on the forum. Men don't pic good ladies holsters.

Will - I use the Clipdraw on my Glock 19 and love it. The Glock is so fat that adding a holster to it just makes it even harder to conceal. Echoing what longtooth says, there is some concern about the trigger, so I also use the Safe-T-Blok trigger block. It keeps the gun secure but is still very easy to push out.

I have the added benefit of being left handed, so, using the lefthand model, if anyone ever got my gun from me, chances are it would take them a few minutes to figure out how to remove the trigger block. For me, it's just one quick push with my left trigger finger, and it's out of the way. Almost impossible to remove right handed!

I recommend you take your Mom to a gun show and let her try on a few things though. All us ladies are built different, so what works for one, doesn't work for all.

I bought mine at the local gun store. They come in left or right hand models, black or red, are lockable, and adjustable with a set screw so you can adjust how tight it fits on your gun.

Actually, I do have the Safe-t-block as well. I should have mentioned that. I thought the open trigger of the Glock with no external safety combined with the Clipdraw was a bad idea. Then I saw the saftey block and thought I'd give it a try. Seems to work well around the pit/range, but I have yet to give in a real world try. Maybe in about 60 days!
